A convenient alternative to a wall switch, the stylish SinkTop Switch from InSinkErator is air-activated and easily mounts to the sink or counter top. It is also ideal for island installations. The SinkTop Switch is for use with all disposers (must have AC power below sink.)
Specifications to install in granite countertop
I'm having a granite countertop made and want to be sure this will be easy to install. What is the max thickness of the granite? Should I specify a 1 1/4" hole exactly or would I be better off making it slightly bigger?
Hi this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. When installing an InSinkErator SinkTop Switch, sink hole should be 1 ¼” and maximum thickness should be 1 3/8”. The threaded bellows of the SinkTop Switch most likely would fall if the sink hole will be bigger. The Evolution Cover Control Plus batch feed food waste disposer provides the extra assurance of covered operation. Activated by the magnetic CoverStart switch, it runs only when the cover is on.
My cover gets stuck and will not turn to align the magnets and run the disposer?
My disposer was installed in 1/10 and is called Evolution Pro Cover Control.
The stopper has always been tricky but now it is almost impossible to insert and turn. It is hard to insert & hard to align with magnets to run the disposer. I've had Insinkerator batch disposers before & never had a problem until the magnet design. Can I do anything? Do I have a 7 yr warranty? Thank you.

Can you attach a reverse osmosis filtration system to this unit?
Wondering if you can use an RO system or some kind of other standard filtration system?

In the absence of a nationally recognized standard, InSinkErator can make no claim regarding our products’ compatibility with other filtration systems and we can neither discourage nor recommend the use of such systems in conjunction with our Instant Hot Water Dispensers.
However, we can share some facts with you.
RO Systems produce highly purified water which makes the water very “aggressive.” That is why RO faucets are completely plastic. Our dispenser faucets are brass constructed. Additionally, RO System can produce very low water flow rates, which hinder the performance of the instant hot water dispenser system. At water line pressures significantly lower than 20PSI, the dispenser may “drip”. Either of these two situations could lead to dissatisfaction, which is why we’ve made filtration systems designed specifically for use with our Instant Hot Water Dispensers. The Evolution Excel food waste disposer is for those who enjoy the very best kitchen appliances. The ultimate in performance - nothing grinds more with less noise.
The ground wire on my excel heats up while running. I checked the switch and the wiring looks to be correct. Also, the reset button pops.
Hi this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. I do apologize for the inconvenience your unit may have caused you. When using your disposer, it is normal for its motor especially the bottom plate to get hot. The reset button of your disposer also acts as its overload protector. When the unit overheats, the reset button will pop out. To prevent this from happening, please make sure to always run cold water when using your disposer. Leaving the disposer running without water or using hot water will cause the unit to overheat. Since you mentioned that the ground wire on your Evolution Excel heats up, may I ask if your unit is hardwired or if you are using a power cord to the unit? The Power Cord Kit is easy to install and includes a three-foot UL Listed cord, strain relief clamp, wire connectors and installation instructions. What are the outside dimensions of the flange or "escutcheon" around the push button
I see information on the size of the hole, but I need to know what are the largest outside dimensions of the flange / escutcheon? I need to be able to see if the whole "assembly" will fit where I'd like to put it. Thanks a lot.

The InSinkErator Extension for Involve Hot Water Dispensers allows the hot water dispenser to be installed in solid-surface countertops with a maximum thickness of 3 in.
