The InSinkErator Badger Series food waste disposers are a reliable and functional choice when affordability is the prime concern. Choose from three models, each with a space-saving compact design.

Can I replace a Badger 10s with a 5 or 5xp without replacing the existing mounting bracket already in-place under my sink?

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Yes, all InSinkErator disposers use the same type of mounting assembly. You may not replace the existing mount as long as it is still in good shape. Please also be informed that Badger 10S was an exclusive model that was manufactured for Home Depot and the direct replacement of it is the Badger 15SS from the same store. If you have further questions, you may call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

The redesigned stainless steel hot water tank (HWT-F1000S), which includes the new water filtration system (F-1000S), will feature a new high-end appearance. It is re-engineered for longer life and improved performance with a 2/3-gallon capacity tank, tool-free connections to ease installation, and dry-start protection for peace of mind. This tank provides up to 60 cups of near-boiling, filtered water per hour.

Can I bypass the filter on this system?

I already have a filtration system that I like very much. I would prefer not to use your filtering system. Does your system require the use of your filters or can I bypass the filter?
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Our hot water dispensers can be used with or without our filtration system. At the present time, there are no national standards regarding compatibility of hot water dispensers to other filtration systems. In the absence of a nationally recognized standard, InSinkErator can make no claim regarding our products’ compatibility with other filtration systems and we can neither discourage nor recommend the use of such systems in conjunction with our Instant Hot Water Dispensers. If you wish to proceed in using your preferred filtration system, kindly make sure that the water pressure that will be supplied to your InSinkErator hot water dispenser will be between 30 to 120 PSI. If you have questions, you may call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

The Evolution Essential food waste disposer is the ideal choice for a wide range of kitchens.

Which side of a double bowl sink?

We are installing into a 60/40 double bowl sink. The 60% side is a couple inches deeper than the smaller side.

Is there any suggestion as to which side is the preferred side to install the disposal?

Wife is Left Handed, disposal switch is on the right side, dishwasher on the left side, bigger deeper bowl on the left side, old installation had disposal on the left side. Drain line will accommodate either

Suggestions so I don't have to install it "two" times
Hi this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. You may install your disposer either on the right side or left side as long as we are sure that the plumbing will accommodate proper installation of the unit (discharge outlet of the disposer should be higher than the trap). We suggest that you install it on the side where users will be more comfortable working. If you have further clarifications, you may reply to this thread or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700.

The bottom of my sink is not level. Are there any cons for installing the Compact?

Hi! The boottom of my sink is not level. Actually it's drainhole seems to be inclined with the 1/5 inch vertical drop. The sink itself is solid enough to handle a non-level disposer. I wonder if there could be any problems with the unit itself (increased vibrations or anything)? Are there any mounting tips to compensate that? Thanks!
Hi this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. For the disposer to operate properly and safely, it would need to be mounted to as level as possible sink base. The risk of mounting the disposer to non-level sink is excessive vibration and noise. This could cause, over time, possible damage to the disposer, the sink and the plumbing depending on the level of vibration. Also, if the unit needed to be serviced and it was found the problem was related to an installation issue, the unit would not be covered under warranty. Our in home warranty covers manufacturing defects only.

Unfortunately, there are no installation tips or accessories that we could recommend that would correct this issue. Our only recommendation would be that you consult a plumbing professional to see if the issue with the bottom of the sink not being level can be corrected.

If you have further questions, you may reply to this thread or you may call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

This InSinkErator Instant Hot Water Dispenser system, which includes a Hot1 model dispenser and 1/3 gallon copper tank, provides 190°F near-boiling water for a variety of uses. Designed with convenience in mind, the Hot1 features a simple, low profile design with an easy-to-use handle. Enjoy hot water right when you need it - now.

We have a Serial #04038623309 Hot-1 water dispenser.

It sputters almost every time we use it. Do we can we replace the tank or do we need to replace the whole unit?
Hi this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. I do apologize for the inconvenience your unit may have caused you. It may be that there is air in the system causing this issue. Please check to be certain all connections are secure. If not, secure as required.

It also could be that the aerator may be partially blocked with hard water deposits or debris. The aerator is screwed on to the end of the spout. You may check this using the following procedure:

1. Unplug the dispenser. As with any electrical appliance, appropriate cautions should be observed when removing the plug from the outlet.
2. Dispense the water until it is cool.
3. Unscrew the aerator from the end of the spout and check to see if the screen in the aerator is clean and clear. If not, clean it by running water through it in the opposite direction. If this does not clean the openings the aerator may need to be replaced.
4. Replace the aerator on to the end of the spout.
5. Plug the dispenser back in.

Please be advised that during the start up heating cycle, you can expect to hear gurgling or hissing sounds within the tank. This is normal. The unit may boil briefly on initial start up until the temperature sensing system reaches equilibrium. This is also normal.

If all connections are secure, and the aerator is clean and clear, it may be due to a problem with the tank and your dispenser may require service or replacement at this time.

If you need further assistance, you may reply to this thread or you may call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

ARE THE SPOUTS OF GN1100SN REPLACEABLE

I NEED A SHORT SPOUT, this unite is to tall for the sink. Can I replace it with a lower spout? I have a very deep 36inch sink, a shorter one would look much better for this situation. Time is of the essence, stone top being cut on Tuesday. need to be sure It can be replaced, with shorter spout in satin nickel, Thank you Annie Laura
Hi this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. The spout of any Indulge Faucet is not replaceable. If you need a faucet assembly with lower spout, replacement of the entire faucet assembly is required. You may consider our Involve Models like the F-H-Wave or F-H-View model. Specification sheets are available online through www.insinkerator.com. You might find this link helpful: http://www.insinkerator.com/en-us/H.... If you have further questions, do not hesitate to reply through this thread or call the InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700.

The Evolution Cover Control Plus batch feed food waste disposer provides the extra assurance of covered operation. Activated by the magnetic CoverStart switch, it runs only when the cover is on.

Need a new magnetic coverstart switch.

The black cover over the magnetics have broken/worn away and the device is VERY difficult to turn. The unit is approx 5 years old. Where can I purchase a new one?
Hi this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. I do apologize for the inconvenience your unit may have caused you. Our customer’s experience with our products is very important to InSinkErator and I would like the opportunity to discuss this with you. To be able to provide you with accurate information about the replacement stopper, kindly send me an email with your complete contact information and serial number of your disposer to insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com. I look forward to your response. Thank you.

The InSinkErator Mounting Gasket Kit includes two replacement sink gaskets to be used in conjunction with specific InSinkErator disposer models. Refer to the included installation instructions for quick and easy gasket replacement. Not for use with Evolution Series and E606 disposers.

does the mounting gasket pull out without disassembling the disposer?

Hi this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Replacement of an InSinkErator Deluxe or Standard Mounting Gasket would require uninstalling of the disposer. If you have questions, you may reply to this thread or call the InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

A convenient alternative to a wall switch, the stylish SinkTop Switch from InSinkErator is air-activated and easily mounts to the sink or counter top. It is also ideal for island installations. The SinkTop Switch is for use with all disposers (must have AC power below sink.)

Second outlet always hot?

I want to confirm that the second outlet on the unit is always on, rather than both controlled by the same switch. It seems like the answer should be an obvious yes, but it doesn't say that explicitly anywhere including the downloadable installation instructions.
My objective is to put a single gang outlet under the sink, plug the dishwasher in directly, and use the dual outlet with the disposer on the switch and an instant hot water dispenser on this unit in the second outlet.
Hi this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. For a Dual Outlet SinkTop Switch, when you push the SinkTop Switch button, you switch electrical power between the two outlets on the power module. This feature allows a second appliance to be plugged in (such as an InSinkErator Hot Water Dispenser) and momentarily interrupts its power to run the disposer. The power module automatically turns the second appliance back on when the disposer is switched off. If you have further questions, you may reply to this thread or call the InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.
