The bottom of my sink is not level. Are there any cons for installing the Compact?
Hi! The boottom of my sink is not level. Actually it's drainhole seems to be inclined with the 1/5 inch vertical drop. The sink itself is solid enough to handle a non-level disposer. I wonder if there could be any problems with the unit itself (increased vibrations or anything)? Are there any mounting tips to compensate that? Thanks!
Hi this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. For the disposer to operate properly and safely, it would need to be mounted to as level as possible sink base. The risk of mounting the disposer to non-level sink is excessive vibration and noise. This could cause, over time, possible damage to the disposer, the sink and the plumbing depending on the level of vibration. Also, if the unit needed to be serviced and it was found the problem was related to an installation issue, the unit would not be covered under warranty. Our in home warranty covers manufacturing defects only.
Unfortunately, there are no installation tips or accessories that we could recommend that would correct this issue. Our only recommendation would be that you consult a plumbing professional to see if the issue with the bottom of the sink not being level can be corrected.
