The Jam-Buster Wrench is a quick, effective tool to help free simple jams in your InSinkErator manufactured disposer. Insert the hex wrench into the center hole in the bottom of the disposer and turn back and forth to free the jam. Works only on InSinkErator manufactured disposers.

What is the size is the jam buster wrench?

Where can I can the wrench for the Badger 1? I live in Chicago Illinois
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Each InSinkErator disposer is shipped with a self-service wrench. The wrench is silver colored, and shaped like a little crank, about four inches long. If you cannot find the service wrench, you can use a standard 1/4 inch Allen wrench. If you do not have your self-service wrench, and would like one, please let us know and we would be happy to send it out at no charge. You may send your complete contact information to insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

direct replacement?

Currently have a leaking Badger Model 5-81, serial 0612 1821230. Is the Badger 5 1/2 h.p. a direct replacement? Want to utilize existing plumbing. Also, can I reuse the electrical cord on existing unit and transfer to new unit?
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. I do apologize for the inconvenience that you encountered with your disposer. Yes, the direct replacement to your disposer is the model Badger 5. You may also replace it with any Badger disposers as these models have the same plumbing requirements.

Regarding the electrical connection of your disposer, please make sure not to use an old power cord. Reusing an old power cord may cause damage to it and if reused, one may have a problem. It is best to use a new cord and plug.

For your convenience, we have manufactured disposers that are already preinstalled with a power cord. You may check this link: http://shop.insinkerator.com/p/insi... for an example of a Badger 5 disposer with a cord.

Specifically designed to muffle disposer noise while preventing water and food particles from splashing up. Installs in seconds with no tools and is easily removed for cleaning. Not for use with Evolution Series and E606 disposers.

This InSinkErator Indulge Tuscan Instant Hot Water Dispenser model provides filtered 200F near-boiling water and cool drinking water. Classic and nostalgic, the Indulge Tuscan instant hot water dispenser provides a relaxing warmth of style. Designed for use with the re-engineered InSinkErator Stainless Steel Tank and Filtration System, enjoy hot or cool, filtered water right when you need it - now.

Is the water really like drinking a cold glass of water????

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. If the cold side of your dispenser will be connected to a chilled water tank, then the cold side of it will dispense chilled water. But if the cold side will be connected directly to the incoming supply valve, then the water from the cold side will have the same temperature as your incoming water supply. If you have questions, you may contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

The Evolution Essential food waste disposer is the ideal choice for a wide range of kitchens.

My drain keeps clogging

My drain keeps clogging with very little use and with foods that are okay. It is connected properly and the P trap is empty. It clogs at the T (double sink) before it goes to the P trap. Any suggestions?

Available only from InSinkErator, the "Twist-On, Twist-Off" Quick Lock design helps ensure fast and easy replacement of existing disposer mounts. This Polished Stainless Steel InSinkErator sink flange will complement most Stainless Steel sinks. The mounting collar configuration is a trademark of Emerson Electric Co.

I have an Evolution compact model sold in 2007. I am replacing the sink. Should I replace any gaskets etc ? Current installation is not leaking

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. All InSinkErator disposers use the same type of mounting assembly. You can use your previous Quick Lock Sink Mount and the parts of it (including the fiber gasket) as long as it is still in good condition. If you have questions, you may contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

can I use drano in my insinkerator?

It is clogged and can't get it to drain.
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Please make sure not to use any acidic or caustic chemicals such as drain cleaners and the like to your disposer as these may corrode the parts of your unit. Instead, kindly follow the troubleshooting steps below (provided that you haven’t used any chemicals yet):

1. Make certain that the disposer's power switch is in the off position.
2. If you have a double sink, place a stopper in the non-disposer side of the sink and place something heavy on top of it, or have someone hold it, so as to prevent water from backing up on this side of the sink. If you have a single sink, skip to step 3.
3. If you have a dishwasher air gap connected to drain through the disposer, we recommend that you keep an eye on it while using the plunger as water will find the easiest route. You may experience water coming out of the air gap while using the plunger. If you do not have an air gap skip to step 4.
4. Fill the disposer side of the sink with approximately two inches of water.
5. Using a regular plunger, place the plunger on the disposer side sink hole opening, and push it down gently to create suction and then pull it up with force. You may have to do this 2 to 4 times or more dependent upon the clog.
6. After the clog is dislodged, run the water and disposer for a minute or two.

The above procedure, most of the time, unclogs the drain. If it does not resolve the situation, and you are comfortable detaching the pipes form the disposer, you might find the use of a drain line auger or “snake” helpful. Otherwise, we would recommend that you contact your local plumber for assistance.

Does the mounting assembly come with both the 1-1/2" and the 1-1/8" screws?

We are installing a new sink and countertop and wanted to replace our quick mount assembly while everything is disconnected. The new sink is more than 3/8" thick and the countertop is quartz.
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. The mounting assembly comes with a 1 ½” screws. The flange that comes with it can accommodate up to ¾” thickness of sink. Sinks that are thicker than ¾” can use an InSinkErator Extended Sink Flange that can accommodate up to 1 ¾” thick. If you have questions, you may contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.
