What is considered a Small Bone that is OK to put in the Evolution Compact?
Hi,
It says in your guide that small bones is recommended for use in the Evolution compact. Would all parts of the chicken classify as a small bone (Thigh Bone, Leg Bone, etc?)
What about bones from Pork Chops, or Lamb Chops or Lamb Racks? Pork Baby Back Ribs?
I would like to grind bones but want to make sure that I don't put something in that could damage or clog the machine.
Thanks
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Your InSinkErator disposer is designed for use on all kinds of food waste. Most vegetable, fruit, and meat waste can be disposed of easily in your disposer. The disposer can even dispose of bones. In fact, grinding bones keeps the shredding components in the disposer clean and moving freely. Raw beef round steak bones work best, cooked beef or pork chop bones may also be used. They also create a scouring action that will scrape off leftover particles inside the disposer that may cause odor. Chicken bones may be too soft to scour left over particles but can still be disposed into your disposer. Fruit pits from peaches, nectarines, plums, etc. do a good job of this too. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.
