Available only from InSinkErator, the "Twist-On, Twist-Off" Quick Lock design helps ensure fast and easy replacement of existing disposer mounts. This Polished Stainless Steel InSinkErator sink flange will complement most Stainless Steel sinks. The mounting collar configuration is a trademark of Emerson Electric Co.

How can I take the mount off an old sink to put it on a new sink?

I recently purchased a new sink and would like to place the quick mount system in this sink. However, I cannot get the mount off the old sink. How can you do this?

Hi dsav1722,

Thank you for providing visuals of the current setup of your Quick Lock Mount. Based on this, you may start with the following steps below.

1. Using a flathead screwdriver, loosen the 3 screws on the mounting assembly.
2. Using a flathead screwdriver, pry off the snap ring. This will allow you to remove all the other parts of the Quick Lock Mount.
3. Remove the flange from the sink.
4. Remove old plumber’s putty from sink with putty knife.

I have included a link below for the generic Installation, Care and Use Manual of our disposers. Kindly refer to steps 6, 7, 8, and 9 for the visuals of the steps above.

The Evolution Compact food waste disposer is perfect for small households and houses with restricted cabinet space.

I have an Evolution Compact disposal. It was installed without a dishwasher connected to it.

SInce there is no dishwasher connected, the discharge pipe inside the unit is still plugged. Unfortunately the short section of the pipe inside the unit fills with debris over time and creates significant odor problem. Is there any way or any suggestion as to how to prevent debris from accumulating in the recesses of the pipe? Can it be plugged from the inside? I realize if there was a dishwasher connected, the flow through the pipe would clear the debris regularly, but that isn't the setup we have.
Hi joho7218,

Thank you for contacting InSinkErator.

The space inside the disposer for the dishwasher inlet would be too small and would only accumulate small amount of food items (if there’s any). An odor from a disposer could be a sign of grease and food buildup. Also, over time, food particles may accumulate under the splash baffle. To clean the disposer, please follow the steps listed below.

1. Make sure power to the disposer is OFF.

2. Remove and clean the quiet collar with a soapy scouring pad or, if you have a dishwasher and would prefer, you can put it in the dishwasher.

3. Replace the quiet collar.

4. Place the stopper in sink opening and fill sink halfway with warm water.

5. Mix 1/4 cup of baking soda with the water.

6. Turn the disposer on and then remove the stopper from sink hole opening. This will flood the grind chamber to wash away loose particles.

This procedure may cause the disposer to vibrate a bit and this would be considered normal. While it is acceptable to perform this procedure occasionally, it should not be done on an everyday basis. Other options to eliminate odor include grinding bones. The disposer is designed to grind bones. Bones create a scouring action that scrape off leftover particles that may cause odor. We recommend that bones be ground periodically. Grinding citrus peels occasionally will also help to freshen up the disposer.

Lastly, disposers may also be cleaned with garbage disposal cleaners. We recommend Disposer Care®. This product is not sold by InSinkErator, but is generally available in major home centers, hardware, and grocery stores. For more information on Disposer Care®, contact Summit Brands, Inc. at 1-888-476-6688 or www.summitbrands.com.

If the information/steps above did not help resolve the problem, you may also want to check your plumbing configuration to be sure that this is not the source of the issue.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

Thank you.

The Evolution Excel food waste disposer is for those who enjoy the very best kitchen appliances. The ultimate in performance - nothing grinds more with less noise.

What is the best way to connect two dishwashers to one Evolution Excel

I will have two Bosch dishwashers installed in my house which is under construction. I would like to know what is the best way to connect the two dishwashers to an Evolution Excel garbage disposer
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. All InSinkErator disposers only have one dishwasher inlet. Our InSinkErator Dishwasher Connector Kit that we use to connect a dishwasher to a disposer is designed to be connected to only one dishwasher. We do not have any instruction or other kits that will connect our disposers to multiple dishwashers. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

Why does the drain rubber point up?

Just installed mine, just wondering why the drain rubber points up. seems like it would be harder to get food into it? I haven't tried yet
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. When placing the Quiet Collar Sink Baffle into the sink hole opening, the conical shape should be pointing downwards. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

When a run my disposal there is a lot of vibration. This just started a couple months ago!

The disposal still is grinding but the vibration shakes both my sinks.
Hi SusieK,

I do apologize for the inconvenience that you encountered with your disposer. With your disposer turned off, you may try instructions below.

You can check to be sure that the plumbing is not “pulled” to the discharge outlet on the disposer and that the mounting assembly is correctly installed and securely locked into place. “Pulling” the disposer to meet the plumbing can cause the disposer to be ever so slightly off center and vibrate.

You may also check how your disposer is mounted to the mounting assembly. An improperly installed or “unlocked” lower mounting ring can cause vibration. While it may appear that the lower mounting ring is tight, all three mounting tabs must be locked over the ridge at the top of each track.

You may also check the chamber of your disposer. Your disposer uses two swiveling impellers to grind food during operation. If one or both of the impellers are stuck (not moving freely); this can cause vibration. To check this, first make sure power is OFF to the disposer. Then remove the Quiet Collar Sink Baffle and look down into the disposer using a flashlight. You should see two metal objects (the impellers) held to the “floor: of the disposer with a rivet or “pin”. They are across from each other, half way between the walls of the disposer and the center of the rotating disk. Do not put your hands into the disposer. Use a wooden spoon handle or tool to push on each of these impellers. They should move around very easily and independently from the plate. After checking, remove the tool.

If one or both of the swivel impellers does not move easily, this may be causing the concern. You may be able to free the swivel lug(s) or impeller(s) using some simple steps. We recommend that you may want to try grinding some hard food items like bones or fruit pits (avocado or peach type). The disposer is designed to grind bones. Raw beef round steak bones work best, cooked beef or pork chop bones may also be used. While bones are preferable, fruit pits may be substituted. As these types of hard items knock up against the stuck impellers, it should cause them to free up and thus return the disposer to its normal grinding capabilities and alleviate the vibration. You can follow the easy steps listed below.

1. Turn on the faucet.

2. Run a strong flow of cold water.

3. Turn on the disposer.

4. Insert a bone or two (depending upon the size), or a fruit pit or two, into the disposer and position the stopper to minimize possible ejection of material while grinding by placing the stopper in the opening at an angle so that water can flow but the hole opening is mostly covered. Don't be afraid of the noise. Your disposer is a very durable appliance specifically designed to grind these types of items. The material will take a minute or two to grind. Leave the disposer and the water on until grinding is complete.

5. Run the water for 15 seconds after grinding is complete.

6. Turn the disposer off.

Make sure power is off to the disposer and then check the impellers again using the handle of a spoon or other appropriate tool (for a disposer that is magnetically actuated, use a non-magnetic tool). Again, do not put your hands into the chamber. If the impellers are still not moving freely, you should repeat the process once or twice more.

There may also be an internal problem with the disposer that may require service or replacement at this time.

In case these steps won’t resolve the issue of your disposer, kindly send me an email through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com with your complete contact information and serial number of your disposer and I will get in touch with you. You may also call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700.

Thank you.

What is the replacement for a Model 333-57

1/2 HP, 115 Volts
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. We do not have a direct replacement for a model 333 with ½ horsepower. A Badger 5 will have the same ½ horsepower feature with your disposer but it has a different plumbing requirement. An Evolution Essential model will have the same plumbing requirement with your disposer but will have a higher horsepower of ¾. If you wish to have specifications sheets of these models for your reference, you may send an email to insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com and I shall process the request. Thank you.

The F-2000S Water Filtration System Plus is designed for exclusive use with InSinkErator water dispensing systems. It reduces particulates, chlorine taste and odor, plus cysts, lead, mercury, and other impurities allowing you to enjoy better-tasting hot beverages. It has a 1/4 in. quick-connect fitting and is replaced easily without contact with used filter material.

Can the F2000S filtration system be used with the Instant Hot Water Dispenser SST-00?

I've had the insinkerator instant hot water dispenser model SST-00 for several years and need to replace the filtration system attached to it. Can I use the F-2000S with this tank?
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Yes, the F-2000S Filtration System can be used with any InSinkErator made Hot Water Dispensers. Kindly check the size of the supply valve that is currently connected to your filtration system. You might be required to change it as the F-2000S requires a ¼” inch supply valve. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

The Evolution Compact food waste disposer is perfect for small households and houses with restricted cabinet space.

My Evolution Compact was very quiet. It still works but is making noise.

Hi Alresidue,

Thank you for contacting InSinkErator.

We understand the disposer is making an unusual noise. Unknowingly, something might have gotten down inside the disposer causing this. If it is making a “machine gun” consistent type noise, something may be caught in the protrusions of the stationary shredder ring. If it is making a “bouncing around” type sound, there may be something that is being thrown around the inside of the chamber. We recommend that you check for this using the following procedure.

1. Make sure the disposer is electrically off.

2. Remove the quiet collar, and look down into the chamber from the sink hole opening with a flashlight.

3. Do NOT put your hands inside the disposer.

4. Shine a flashlight into the chamber to see if you can see anything that that should not be there. Closely inspect the entire floor of the chamber and pay special attention to the area around the outer edge of the disposer's shredding disk. There is a small space between the "floor" (flat surface of the shredder disc) and the wall of the disposer. Next to this space, lining the wall of the disposer, you will see some "windows" around the circumference of the canister and just above these windows there are some small v-shaped protrusions. Follow the circumference of this ring, looking at the v-shaped protrusions and the “windows”, to see if you can locate anything that should not be there. Objects or food debris (such as a bone shard) may be lodged in one of these v-shaped protrusions or “windows”. This will not impede the movement of the plate, but will cause a loud consistent (machine-gun type) noise as the lugs swing by and hit it.

5. If you do locate something, use a tool such as a long tongs or pliers to retrieve it. For a disposer that is magnetically actuated, use non-magnetic tools. Again, do not place your hands inside the disposer.

6. Turn the faucet on and let the water run through for 15-20 seconds.

7. Switch the disposer on and check if it is operating correctly.

If the unusual noise is an “inconsistent” metallic bouncing around or scraping sound, the rotor shredder plate may be loose from the rotor shaft. Kindly try the troubleshooting steps below.

1. Make sure the disposer is electrically OFF.

2. Obtain a flashlight and a long-handled wooden spoon or other similar tool. For a disposer that is magnetically actuated, use non-magnetic tools.

3. Do NOT put your hands inside the disposer.

4. Remove the quiet collar and look down into the chamber from the sink hole opening with a flashlight.

5. Using the end of the wooden spoon, press on the top of the flat plate (floor of the chamber). It should be firm and not rock up and down like a see-saw. If it does rock up and down, your disposer will require service.

In case these steps will not resolve your disposer’s issue, kindly send us an email with your complete contact information and serial number of your disposer at insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Jerica

A convenient alternative to a wall switch, the stylish SinkTop Switch from InSinkErator is air-activated and easily mounts to the sink or counter top. It is also ideal for island installations. The SinkTop Switch is for use with all disposers (must have AC power below sink.)

Insinkerator top switch --Dual outlet (only using one)

Would shorting the length of the vacuum hose if not needed increase the sensitivity of the push button and use less finger pressure??
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Shortening the length of the InSinkErator SinkTop Switch hose will not have an effect on the unit’s performance. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.
