Available only from InSinkErator, the "Twist-On, Twist-Off" Quick Lock design helps ensure fast and easy replacement of existing disposer mounts. This Polished Stainless Steel InSinkErator sink flange will complement most Stainless Steel sinks. The mounting collar configuration is a trademark of Emerson Electric Co.

is there a lower profile flange, narrower to allow the unit to sit higher in the cabinet, I need the outlet to be higher for water due to drain height

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. We only have two types of InSinkErator sink flanges. The regular sink flange requires a 3 ½” sink opening and can accommodate ¾” thickness of sink. The extended sink flange requires the same sink opening and can accommodate 1 ¾” thickness of sink. If you have questions, you may send us an email through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or you may call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

The InSinkErator Badger Series food waste disposers are a reliable and functional choice when affordability is the prime concern. Choose from three models, each with a space-saving compact design.

Badger 1 and 5 differences? And rust?

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Badger 1 carries 1/3 horsepower and 1-year warranty while Badger carries ½ horsepower and 2-year warranty. Both models have galvanized grinding components. The galvanized grinding components inside the disposer are made corrosion resistant by a coating of zinc that’s called galvanization. For more accurate information, I have included a link below regarding the two disposers. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

Specifically designed to muffle disposer noise while preventing water and food particles from splashing up. Installs in seconds with no tools and is easily removed for cleaning. Not for use with Evolution Series and E606 disposers.

How do I remove the old baffle and install this one?

I have a Pro 77 insinkerator.
Hi SWeese,

Thank you for contacting InSinkErator.

If you want to replace the mounting gasket of your disposer, you would have to uninstall your disposer. If you want to replace the removable sound baffle of your disposer, you would just have to pull the baffle out from the sink hole opening.

I have included a link below on how to uninstall and reinstall our disposers.

http://www.insinkerator.com/en-US/S....

For your reference, the part number of the mounting gasket is MGK-00. This kit includes one standard mounting gasket and one deluxe mounting gasket. Please make sure to use the deluxe gasket for your Pro 77 disposer. As for the removable sound baffle, the part number of it is RSB-00.

You can purchase these items from retail outlets, plumbing supply houses and online stores. Below are also the links for the said accessories.

noisy unit

We bought a new custom home 8 months ago with the model 1-87 installed.
It makes noise like a utensil is stuck in the unit. On inspection the blade a "hammer" type piece attached opposite the blade on the same shaft seem to be loose with less than a 1/4 inch up and down play. the nut on the shaft seems to be tight.
The unit works fine but we are concerned about the noise.
Thanks!
Ray and Martha.
Hi Ray and Martha,

I do apologize for the inconvenience that you encountered with your disposer.

We understand the disposer is making an unusual noise. Unknowingly, something might have gotten down inside the disposer causing this. If it is making a “machine gun” consistent type noise, something may be caught in the protrusions of the stationary shredder ring. If it is making a “bouncing around” type sound, there may be something that is being thrown around the inside of the chamber. We recommend that you check for this using the following procedure.

1. Make sure the disposer is electrically off.

2. Hold the black baffle back, and look down into the chamber from the sink hole opening with a flashlight.

3. Do NOT put your hands inside the disposer.

4. Push the black flaps down. Shine a flashlight into the chamber to see if you can see anything that should not be there. Closely inspect the entire floor of the chamber and pay special attention to the area around the outer edge of the disposer's shredding disk. There is a small space between the "floor" (flat surface of the shredder disc) and the wall of the disposer. Just up from this space is the stationary shredder ring (it lines the entire wall of the canister) which has some small v-shaped protrusions. Follow the circumference of this ring, looking at the v-shaped protrusions, to see if you can locate anything that should not be there. Objects or food debris (such as a bone shard) may be lodged in one of these v-shaped protrusions. This will not impede the movement of the plate, but will cause a loud consistent (machine-gun type) noise as the lugs swing by and hit it.

5. If you do locate something, use a tool such as a long tongs or pliers to retrieve it. Again, do not place your hands inside the disposer.

6. Turn the faucet on and let the water run through for 15-20 seconds.

7. Switch the disposer on and check if it is operating correctly.

If the unusual noise is an “inconsistent” metallic bouncing around or scraping sound, the rotor shredder plate may be loose from the rotor shaft. Kindly follow the steps below.

1. Make sure the disposer is electrically OFF.

2. Obtain a flashlight and a long-handled wooden spoon or other similar tool.

3. Do NOT put your hands inside the disposer.

4. Push the black flaps down and look down into the chamber from the sink hole opening with a flashlight.

5. Shine the flashlight into the chamber. Using the end of the wooden spoon or tool, press on the top of the flat plate (floor of the chamber). It should be firm and not rock up and down like a see-saw. If it does rock up and down, your disposer will require service.

In case these steps won’t resolve your disposer’s issue, kindly send us an email through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com with your complete contact information and serial number of your disposer and I will get in touch with you.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Jerica

Where is the reset button located in insinkerator 5

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. With your disposer turned off, look under the sink at the very bottom of the disposer, you would see the red, square, reset button (overload protector) that is toward the outside edge. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

Can I purchase the threaded tube for SinkTop Switch it is broken in two?

We have the SinkTop Switch - Dual outlet unit. The threaded tube that holds the switch in place has broken in two. Can that tube be purchased separately or do I have to buy the entire unit again? Also, the decorative trim ring that goes around the switch has come off and needs to be glued back on. Do you have any recommendations on an adhesive?
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. The part number for the threaded bellows is 75470. If you are interested in ordering parts, you can contact Carroll Parts and Services through 1-800-654-3545. As for the decorative ring, there is no need to use glue or any adhesives for this. Once you receive the replacement threaded bellows, you may just snap it back to its place. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

The InSinkErator Flexible Discharge Tube provides a quick way of connecting the disposer discharge to the drain line.

Evolution excel out of warranty with leaking flexible coupler

The flexible discharge tube shown above doesn't look like the failed connector on our model. After discussing with your support, I've ordered part number 75499 from Carroll parts. It looks like this should be an easy replacement. Is it something I can do? Are there instructions anywhere? Are any special tools required? I see a single bolt/screw above the coupler. Do I simply remove that?

Note: your facility for uploading pictures doesn't seem to be working.
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Replacing the Flex Coupler is very easy. No special tools are required only a properly sized flat head or Philips screw driver. When you receive the replacement part, all you need to do is remove the old Flex Coupler by taking off the bolt/screw. The replacement Flex Coupler will just slip into the same slot and is held in place by the lower tab and the bolt/screw at the top. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

The Evolution Septic Assist food waste disposer is specifically designed for homes with septic systems.

Has the biocharge blue liquid been replaced with a new lemon scent yellow liquid?

I bought this disposal unit today but it has a yellow lemon scented package that doesn't mention the Biocharge or septic tank features on the liquid container.
The Lowe's store where I purchased it had more refills of the yellow lemon formula but none that were marked Biocharge that was blue in color. The sales associate said it was the same but this is the odd part...while the store had the yellow liquid container refills and not the blue containers marked biocharge, I can not find the yellow refill anywhere online even online in the store I purchased it, but the blue biocharge refills seem to be the only ones available by any online retailer but not available in stores where the disposal is sold.

Does the Yellow fluid package that came with my Septic Assist unit contain the same septic assist formula as the biocharge blue liquid package?

Thanks,
Ed
Hi Ed,

Thank you for contacting InSinkErator.

You are pertaining to our new product, INJEX. It is similar to the Bio-Charge, but instead of providing a compound that assists with maintaining a healthy Septic System, this product will deliver a Lemony scent. This will keep the drain smelling fresh and prevent unpleasant odors. The Bio-Charge and the new INJEX are interchangeable.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
