The redesigned stainless steel hot water tank (HWT-F1000S), which includes the new water filtration system (F-1000S), will feature a new high-end appearance. It is re-engineered for longer life and improved performance with a 2/3-gallon capacity tank, tool-free connections to ease installation, and dry-start protection for peace of mind. This tank provides up to 60 cups of near-boiling, filtered water per hour.

Is the HTW-F1000S a direct replacement for my old model HC1100BLK-2?

I am wanting to replace my old hot water heater. Will this model work with my existing faucet? The HTW-F1000S manual says Snap-connect fitting not included. Required when replacing tank manufactured prior to January 2006. Call the AnswerLine® 1-800-558-5700 to order.

My unit came with my house and looks like it is probably older than 2006. Do I need the fitting? How much does it cost? How long does it take to get?

Also, since i still have several unused F-601 cartridges i assume i can continue to leave my old filter system hooked up until i use them up. Is that right?

Hi Billagain,

This is Belle from InSinkErator® Customer Service. Based on the model and serial number shown on the photo, the HWT-F1000S will work with your existing faucet. The snap connect fitting is needed to connect the inlet line to the tank. It normally comes pre installed on the new faucet assemblies. If you will be using your existing faucet, the snap connect has to be purchased separately.

The HWT-F1000S comes with the new filtration system. If you wish to keep your existing filter system installed, you may do so.

If you have any question, you may contact the AnswerLine at 1-800-558-5800. Thank you,

The InSinkErator F-601R Replacement Filter is the only water filter specifically designed for instant hot and hot/cool water dispensers. When paired with the InSinkErator Stainless Steel Tank, our carbon filters provide fresh-tasting water by reducing chlorine taste and odor, lead, mercury, cysts, asbestos and other impurities. The F-601R filter can also be adapted to any refrigerator, icemaker or virtually any drinking water system.

The water flow has slowed significantly with new F-601R- should this be expected?

Hi JackA,

This is Belle from InSinkErator® Customer Service. Our filtration system, regardless of the model, does not slow down the flow of water except if the filter is old and has to be replaced.

If you have any other questions, you may contact the AnswerLine at 1-800-558-5700. Thank you.

The Replacement Filter Cartridge (1-Pack) keeps your water tasting clean by reducing particulates, chlorine taste and odor. These filters are designed for exclusive use with InSinkErator water dispensing systems and feature a sanitary quick-change design to minimize contact with used filter material. The twist-and-lock design allows for quick-and-easy filter swaps.

Please compare the F1000 and F2000 filters

What makes the F2000 more expensive and presumably better?
Hi LWohler,

This is Belle from InSinkErator® Customer Service. The F1000 filter reduces the particulates, chlorine taste and odor. The F2000 reduces not only the particulates, chlorine taste and odor, but also cyst, lead mercury, asbestos, benzene, altrazine, 2, 4-D, Lindane, Carbo furan and P-Dichlorobenzene for clean tasting water.

I hope this helps! If you still have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the AnswerLine at 1-800-558-5700. Thanks.

Hot and Cold Dispenser

I am considering the FHC1100. I have reviewed the specs and features and read the Q&A and still cannot understand how to get cold water. It appears that the cold water is tap water. I don't see any where to purchase a tank that chills the cold water. Please help me to understand how both hot and cold water is filtered and the cold water is chilled.
Hi BrianESQ,

This is Belle from InSInkErator Customer Service.

The F-HC1100 instantly delivers near boiling water and cool drinking water in one system. There are two supply tubes coming from the F-HC1100 that you have to connect to the main water supply. One is for the hot side and the other one is for the cool side. When the cool side of the faucet is depressed, water from your main water supply enters the faucet and cool water flows from the spout. Whatever the temperature is of the incoming water supply will be the same temperature as the water flowing from the (cool side) faucet. Unfortunately, due to the recent decrease in demand, we have stopped manufacturing chilled water tanks.

Regarding your inquiry on how to have filtered water from your InSinkErator faucet, our filtration systems are designed to provide filtered water to both hot and cool sides of our faucet assemblies. To complete the setup, a Y-connector is supplied to connect an InSinkErator filtration system to the hot and cool copper supply lines of an InSinkErator faucet.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions, you may contact the AnswerLine at 1-800-558-5700. Thank you.

Hi Sander,

This is Belle from InSinkErator Customer Service. Yes, you can install a Cover Control Plus Adapter Kit (CCPA-00) on the Evolution Excel but please be informed that when you install the CCPA-00, there is a 2 3/4 inch plumbing dimension difference from the bottom of the sink to the discharge pipe.

If you have any other questions, you may contact the AnswerLine at 1-800-558-5700. Thank you.

Grinding hard bones

I feed fowl bones to my Evolution Excel frequently. But the couple of times I tried hard mammel bones (from steak or ribs), it seemed to take so long and make so much noise, I was concerned the unit would be damaged.

Can the Excel really handle beef, lamb and pork bones (assuming they are fed in at reasonable rates)?

If so, I may still refrain because of the excessive noise.
Hi DennisF,

This is Belle from InSinkErator. The The disposer is designed to grind bones which create a scouring action that scrape off leftover particles that may cause odor. We recommend that bones be ground periodically.

Your Evolution Excel was designed to grind the food waste finer compared to other models. It has the MultiGrind® technology that makes the ground food waste significantly finer. Therefore, you may notice that some types of food items (including bones) may take a bit longer to grind.

If you have any other concerns, please contact the AnswerLine at 1-800-558-5700. Thank you.

Describe the 3 stages of grind in the Evolution Excel

The Excel is described as having MultiGrind technology with three stages of grind. But the cutaway drawing in my manual shows only the grind chamber with the 2 impellers and no additional grind chambers or parts.

Can you give more detail on the Excel MultiGrind, describing how it differs from your other models (or other manufacturers)?
Hi DennisF,

This is Belle from InSinkErator Customer Service. The Evolution Excel was designed to grind wide variety of food wastes, including fibrous waste with the fineness of grind to virtually eliminate drain blockages. The Evolution Series has 40 smaller window openings in the grind ring that the waste is forced through. In addition, the Excel also has an under cutter disc which is another set teeth for yet a third cut. The waste must pass through these teeth prior to entering the drain line which makes the ground food waste significantly finer with the Excel compared to other models.
