The InSinkErator stopper is designed to stop water and food particles from traveling down the drain. For use on all InSinkErator manufactured disposers, the stopper is easy to insert and remove from your sink drain. This stopper is made of black, durable plastic.

Does this fit model 5-75. S/N 76306062

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator® Customer Service. The InSinkErator Black Plastic Stopper fits an InSinkErator Sink Flange. If your Badger 5-75 used the flange that originally came with it, then this stopper should perfectly fit. For more inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

Replacement SinkTop Switch push button. To change button color, pop the old decorative ring off the push button body, replace with the new push button, and push the sides of the new decorative ring until it locks with the push button body.

Color match to Delta Venetian Bronze

From the photos it appears the Classic Oil Rubbed bronze is the finish that best matches Delta's Venetian Bronze finish, can you confirm this please? Thanks!
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator® Customer Service. Based on our Finish Matching Guide, the Delta® Venetian Bronze complements an InSinkErator Classic Oil Rubbed Bronze. The InSinkErator Badger Series food waste disposers are a reliable and functional choice when affordability is the prime concern. Choose from three models, each with a space-saving compact design.

Is only humming. Not grinding.

After pushing the red button on the bottom of our disposal it does turn on but makes more of a humming noise. Doesn't grind if that makes sense. Is this something that I can fix myself? This is a new disposal and doesnt even run that often so im not sure why it overheated and why it's not working properly.
Hi Matt16,

Thank you for contacting InSinkErator®.

We apologize for the inconvenience that you encountered with your household disposer. Kindly follow the steps below and hopefully, these would help resolve your disposer’s issue.

Each InSinkErator disposer is shipped with a self-service wrench. The wrench is silver colored, and shaped like a little crank, about four inches long. If you cannot find the service wrench, you can use a standard 1/4 inch Allen wrench. If you do not have your self-service wrench, and would like one, please let us know and we would be happy to send it out at no charge.

1. Make certain that the disposer's switch is in the OFF position. Also, be sure the water is not running during the procedure.

2. Looking under the sink, locate the hole, dead center, at the bottom of the disposer.

3. Insert the self-service wrenchette (or ¼ inch Allen wrench –short end) into the hole.

4. While holding the wrench up in the hole, attempt to make a complete revolution. The wrench should turn freely in a complete revolution, both clockwise and counter-clockwise. If you meet resistance in either direction, work the wrench in a back and forth motion. You may use force if necessary. You will know you are applying too much force if the entire disposer begins to turn.

5. Once the wrench is turning freely in a complete revolution both ways, remove the wrench from the hole.

6. With power still off to the disposer, look down into the chamber from the sink hole opening. Hold the black flaps back and look down into the chamber from the sink hole opening with a flashlight. Look to see if you can see anything that that might still be binding the plate or that you might have dislodged. Do not put your hands into the chamber. Pay special attention to the area around the outer edge of the disposer's shredding disk. There is a small space between the "floor" (flat surface of the shredder disc) and the wall of the disposer. Follow the circumference of this ring, carefully checking the space, to see if you can locate anything that should not be there. If you locate something, use a pair of pliers or tongs to retrieve it. Again, do not put your hands inside the disposer.

7. Turn the faucet on and run water through for 15 – 20 seconds.

8. Turn the switch for the disposer to the on position to check if it is operating correctly.

If the wrench cannot be fully rotated clockwise and counter-clockwise, please follow the next set of steps.

1. Make sure the disposer is electrically off.

2. Hold the black flaps back, and look down into the chamber from the sink hole opening with a flashlight.

3. Do not put your hands inside the disposer.

4. Pay special attention to the area around the outer edge of the disposer's shredding disk. There is a small space between the "floor" (flat surface of the shredder disc) and the wall of the disposer. Follow this space around the circumference of the chamber, to see if you can locate anything that should not be there.

5. If you do locate something, use a tool such as a long tongs or pliers to grab it. See if you can pull it out. If it is wedged too tightly, obtain assistance from another person and have them pull on the object from the top, while you work the wrench from below. Again, do not place your hands inside the disposer.

6. If you successfully retrieve the object and the wrench is turning freely, remove the wrench from the hole. Turn the faucet on and let the water run through for 15-20 seconds.

7. Switch the disposer on and check if it is operating correctly.

In case none of these steps would resolve the issue, please send an email with your complete contact information and serial number of your disposer to insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com. Someone will get back to you immediately. You may also call our AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700.

The InSinkErator Badger Series food waste disposers are a reliable and functional choice when affordability is the prime concern. Choose from three models, each with a space-saving compact design.

I need to cap the dishwasher drain inlet, but I don't have the cap that came with the disposer. Can I purchase a new one?

My local home center does not carry anything I can use to cap it with.
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator® Customer Service. We do not have an available cap or plug to replace the knockout plug of our household disposers. Kindly discontinue using the disposer in case its knockout plug has been removed and there will be no dishwasher connected to it. We recommend replacement of the entire unit. If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

Badger 5 will not turn on.

We have a unit that is new as of 5 months ago. Yesterday morning it made a louder noise and now will not turn on at the switch. I checked the breaker and other items on that breaker and they working.

Is it something as simple as possibly using the red button reset button at the bottom would fix or what would you suggest?
Hi Matt16,

Thank you for contacting InSinkErator®.

If the disposer is completely quiet after trying to turn it on, there is a possibility that it overheated. Kindly follow the troubleshooting guide below and check if any of these will make the unit work.

1. Look at the bottom of the disposer and look for the red reset button.

2. If you find that the reset button has dropped down (out about ¼ inch), gently press it back up. It should remain up and almost flush. If the reset button drops back down, the motor may still be too hot. Let it cool down for 3-5 minutes and try again. The reset button should stay up after the motor has cooled.

3. Try the disposer.

4. If the disposer still won’t work, check that the disposer is connected to power and the fuses/circuit breakers are working? You can test the power with a small appliance like a hair dryer.

If the disposer still will not turn on, please let us know by contacting us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700.

Sincerely,

Evolution Cover Control Plus garbage disposal from InSinkErator offers the extra assurance of covered operation. Activated by the magnetic Cover Start switch, it runs only when the cover is on. Featuring patented sound and grind technology, the Evolution Cover Control Plus offers high-performance operation.

New unit installed today. Very noisy. How do I toubleshoot?

Hi Kitch,

Thank you for contacting InSinkErator®.

If your disposer has an unusual sound or noise, unknowingly, something might have gotten down inside the disposer causing this. If it is making a “machine gun” consistent type noise, something may be caught in the protrusions of the stationary shredder ring. If it is making a “bouncing around” type sound, there may be something being thrown around the inside of the chamber. We recommend that you check for this using the following procedure.

1. Hold the baffle back or remove the quiet collar, and look down into the chamber from the sink hold opening with a flashlight.

2. See if there is anything caught inside. Look at the flow of the chamber (flat surface of the shredding plate) and pay special attention to the area around the outer edge. Around the edge you will see some "windows" around the circumference of the canister and just above these windows there are some small v-shaped protrusions that something could be caught in.

3. If you do locate something, use a tool such as long tongs or pliers to retrieve it.

4. Turn the faucet on and let the water run through for 15-20 seconds.

5. Switch the disposer on to check for the noise.

If the unusual noise is an “inconsistent” metallic bouncing around or scraping sound, the rotor shredder plate may be loose from the rotor shaft. Kindly follow the next set of steps.

1. Make sure the disposer is electrically off.

2. Obtain a flashlight and a long-handled wooden spoon or other similar tool.

3. Do not put your hands inside the disposer.

4. Push the black flaps down and look down into the chamber from the sink hole opening with a flashlight.

5. Shine the flashlight into the chamber. Using the end of the wooden spoon or tool, press on the top of the flat plate (floor of the chamber). It should be firm and not rock up and down like a see-saw. If it does rock up and down, your disposer will require service.

In case none of the steps would resolve the issue, please let us know by contacting us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700.

Sincerely,

Jerica

The Evolution Excel food waste disposer is for those who enjoy the very best kitchen appliances. The ultimate in performance - nothing grinds more with less noise.

How can it be made to work with 230 volt?

They don't sell this grinder in Europe so I want to order from US.
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator® Customer Service. Unfortunately, the Evolution Excel disposer is only manufactured for use in the U.S. and Canada. It is not certified for use or compatible with the electrical requirements of countries other than the U.S. and Canada. If installed outside these countries, the unit would carry no warranty. We have food waste disposer products available internationally. To accurately assist, please send an email to insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com and someone will get back to you immediately. Thank you.

The Replacement Filter Cartridge Plus (1-Pack) keeps your water tasting clean by reducing particulates, chlorine taste and odor, lead, mercury, cysts, asbestos and other impurities. These filters are designed for exclusive use with InSinkErator water dispensing systems and feature a sanitary quick-change design to minimize contact with used filter material. The twist-and-lock design allows for quick-and-easy filter swaps.

How should this filter be disposed after use? Is there a recycling program? Is it safe to dispose of in municipal trash, and in landfill?

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator® Customer Service. Currently, we do not directly offer any recycling or re-use program for old disposers, hot water dispensers, or filters. We recommend you reach out to your local waste collection agency for proper disposal instructions in your area and to see if they offer a small appliance recycling program for disposers/dispensers. The plastic components of the filter are made of reinforced plastic which is not recyclable. Filters can be disposed of in the regular trash. For further inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

Parts?

Why don't you sell replacement parts for these? You want me to buy a new unit because you won't sell me a 50 cent piece of rubber tubing? Ridiculous!
