Does this model have automatic reset

Thank you for the question, Brando. Yes, this model is equipped with an automatic overload switch. In case of overload, allow the disposer to cool for a period of up to 20 minutes before turning the power source back on. If the disposer is controlled by a push-button air switch, turn it off and unplug it for a period of up to 20 minutes before plugging it back in. If the motor remains inoperative, check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. If you need further assistance, please reach out to us via https://support.insinkerator.com/ap....

Is it possible to filter BOTH the hot and cold water?

For instance, could I put a RO filter before the hot water heater and T the line: one into the hot water heater and the directly to the cold?
Hi JamesC, thank you for the question. Yes, you can filter both hot and cold water sides. Check out our installation guide here for your reference: https://insinkerator.emerson.com/do....

Our new insinkerator causes the sink to drain very slowly unless we turn on power the the disposal.

Hi, thanks for reaching out! We're sorry to hear about your experience. Proper installation allows water to flow freely. Water going into the disposer needs to flow downward from the unit. If the water is backing up, it's possible you have a clogged drain line. Here's a troubleshooting guide that may help you fix the problem: https://support.insinkerator.com/ap....

I hear the unit once or twice day, humming as if it's warming? How often should I be hearing it do that?

Hi PeterThor, thanks for reaching out. Yes, this sound is perfectly normal and is simply the tank adjusting to maintain its set temperature. This sound will occur periodically throughout the heating cycle, approximately every 45–60 minutes. If you are using the hot water regularly, you will hear a rumbling even more often because the tank will be heating up to temperature. You can try to lower the temperature in the tank slightly. Locate the thermostat dial on the front of the tank and turn it 1/2 a notch counterclockwise to decrease the temperature. Then dispense water for 20 seconds to allow cold water to enter the tank. Allow the water to reheat to the new setting. You can continue adjusting the dial in small increments until the temperature is to your liking.

Does this seal go under the sink flange inside the sink

Hi NanB93, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the rubber seal goes on top of the sink under the sink flange. This makes installing a garbage disposal mess-free; no clean-up or plumber's putty is required.

Is there a way to troubleshoot the water pressure?

In the past we were able to change the F-1000 with no problem but with this model our water pressure has changed significantly.
Hi Nkeets, thanks for reaching out. Your hot water dispenser is designed to deliver water at one ounce per second. An easy way to check the flow rate is to dispense water into an 8-ounce mug and use a stopwatch to time how long it takes to fill. If the mug fills in 8–12 seconds, the flow rate is normal. If it takes longer than 12 seconds, you may have a reduced or slow flow. Start by checking that the water supply valve is fully opened. It is recommended that you turn the valve all the way to the closed position and then open it fully. Also, make sure that you have at least 15 psi. Check for any kinks on the supply line tubing and the tubing from the faucet to the tank. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact us via https://support.insinkerator.com/ap....

Is this item lead free or NSF certified?
Hi mwoods5999, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the FHC1020 Instant Hot and Cold Faucet is NSF/ANSI certified. Check out the spec sheet here: https://insinkerator.emerson.com/do.... Lead contaminant levels in our hot water dispensers are basically non-detectable and should not be a concern.
