Thank you very much!!!
Hi onlyone,

This is Belle from InSinkErator Customer Service. The STS-SO is an accessory that you may use as an alternative to a wall switch. The Evolution Compact is a continuous feed model that requires a wall switch to turn it on and off.

Can I buy a repair kit? Where can I get repair parts.
Hi Kenzmyth,

This is Belle from InSinkErator Customer Service. I am sorry to hear about your experience with our product. The F-HC1100 does not have a repair part. If the water leaks from the base, the unit requires service or replacement at this time. I'd like the opportunity to further discuss your issue. A convenient alternative to a wall switch, the stylish SinkTop Switch from InSinkErator is air-activated and easily mounts to the sink or counter top. It is also ideal for island installations. The SinkTop Switch is for use with all disposers (must have AC power below sink.)

my sink top air switch button has stuck in the down/pressed-in position - unable to operate disposer - do you have a solution?

Hi IanB,

This is Belle from InSinkErator Customer Service. I am sorry to hear about your experience with our product.

Based on what you described, there might be a partial blockage on the air tube that is causing the button to become stuck in the down/pressed position. Or, it is also possible that bellows portion of the switch got broken and may need to be replaced.

If you look under the sink, you will see a clear plastic tube wherein one end is connected to the push button switch and the other end is connected to the switch box which is plugged into your outlet. You can check to see if the bellows portion may need replacement using the following steps:

1. Disconnect the clear plastic tube from the spigot at the bottom of the bellows.
2. Unplug the switch box. Double-check to be sure that the other end of the tube is securely attached to the spigot on the switch box.
3. Plug the switch box back in.
4. Force some air into the disconnected tube end. You may, if you wish, blow through the tubing, or find an alternate method of pushing air through to.
5. Reconnect the tube to the bottom of the air switch.
6. You should be able to get the buttoin to function properly. If it does not, the bellows portion of the switch may need to be replaced.

The Jam-Buster Wrench is a quick, effective tool to help free simple jams in your InSinkErator manufactured disposer. Insert the hex wrench into the center hole in the bottom of the disposer and turn back and forth to free the jam. Works only on InSinkErator manufactured disposers.

Where to store the Jam-Buster Wrench between uses?

Is there a little clip or something on the side or bottom of the disposer to store this wrench in between uses? I do not anticipate needing it very often, so it will "wander away". I'd like to clip it right on the disposer so that when I need it, it is right there in front of me.
Hi JimTxGa,

This is Belle from InSinkErator Customer Service. Unfortunately, our diposers don't have a clip or somthing on the side of it to store the self service wrenchette.

The Evolution Cover Control Plus batch feed food waste disposer provides the extra assurance of covered operation. Activated by the magnetic CoverStart switch, it runs only when the cover is on.

Does this model have auto reverse?

I am looking to replace my existing InSinkerator. The old one has an auto reverse feature. Does this model have an auto reverse feature? I saw "Auto-Reverse Grind System® feature" in the specs for the Excel model but nothing listed for this particular model. If this model does not have auto reverse, is there a batch feed model that does have auto reverse?
Hi TAGM,

This is Belle from InSInkErator Customer Service. The Cover Control Plus does not have an auto reverse feature. But we have another batch feed model, Pro Cover Control Plus, that has auto reverse feature and a longer warranty. The Pro Cover Control Plus is exclusively available through plumbing contractors.

The InSinkErator Badger Series food waste disposers are a reliable and functional choice when affordability is the prime concern. Choose from three models, each with a space-saving compact design.

i have a old ise model 333 would this be a direct replacement if not what model do i need

Hi Dubber,

This is Belle from InSinkErator Customer Service. The Badger 5 and the model 333 both have the same horsepower, but the features and dimensions are not the same. The current disposers Evolution and Badger series don't have the same features and dimensions as the 333 model. Therefor we do not have a direct replacement model. The closest model that has almost the same features as your 333 is the Badger 5XP. you may need to adjust your plumbing because they do not have the same plumbng dimensions.

The Evolution Excel food waste disposer is for those who enjoy the very best kitchen appliances. The ultimate in performance - nothing grinds more with less noise.

how do you clean your disposer? is it safe to use deodorizers like plink?

Hi LEFB,

This is Belle from InSinkErator Customer Service.

Please follow these steps to clean your disposer:

1.Make sure power to the disposer is OFF.
2.Remove and clean the quiet collar with a soapy scouring pad or, if you have a dishwasher and would prefer, you can put it in the dishwasher.
3.Replace the quiet collar.
4.Place the stopper in sink opening and fill sink halfway with warm water.
5.Mix 1/4 cup of baking soda with the water.
6.Turn the disposer on and then remove the stopper from sink hole opening. This will flood the grind chamber to wash away loose particles.

This procedure may cause the disposer to vibrate a bit and this would be considered normal. While it is acceptable to perform this procedure occasionally, it should not be done on an every day basis.

Other options to clean the disopsper include grinding bones. The disposer is designed to grind bones. Bones create a scouring action that scrape off leftover particles that may cause odor. We recommend that bones be ground periodically. Grinding citrus peels occasionally will also help to freshen up the disposer.

Lastly, disposers may also be cleaned with garbage disposal cleaners. We recommend Disposer Care®. This product is not sold by InSinkErator, but is generally available in major home centers, hardware, and grocery stores. For more information on Disposer Care®, contact Summit Brands, Inc. at 1-888-476-6688 or www.summitbrands.com.

I hope this information helps. If you have any other concerns, you may contact the AnswerLine at 1-800-558-5700. Thank you.

why would water leak at the ground attach point

Water is leaking out of unit where you attach the ground wire. How do I fix this
Hi Hawk,

This is Belle from InSinkErator Customer Service. I am very sorry to hear about your experience with our product. A leak from the bottom could be due to an internal issue or a leak coming from the plumbing connections migrating down to the bottom of the unit.

If you have not already done so, please a bucket underneath the unit to catch any dripping that might occur. In addition, if your disposer has a cord and plug, please unplug it from the outlet at this time. If it is hardwired and has its own separate circuit, please shut off the power at the circuit breaker. If it is hardwired and other items are on the same circuit as the disposer, make sure the on/off switch is in the off position. Power should remain off to the disposer and the receptacle underneath until the problem is resolved.

If the unit is leaking internally, your disposer requires service or replacement at this time.

If you have any other questions or concerns, you may contact the Answerline at 1-800-558-5700. Thank you.
