Switch is not mounted to the granite counter top, it's mounted to the inside wall of the sink cabinet

Is there a seal that can go bad and cause water to leak through the Motor?
I have water dripping out of the reset button. The unit is probably just over 2 years old in a three person household. Only seem to leak when disposal is running.
The unit leaked when turned off cant say if it leaked while running

Purchased a badger 1 from lowes. is there a plug in the dishwasher connect
Yes - a registered electrician installed a wall type switch a male and female plug connection from the switch to the unit to make changing / replacing the unit easier.

how to get rid of my old disposal?
I recently replaced an old Insinkerator with a new one. Installation was easy-peasy, but recycling or getting rid of the old disposal is proving to be difficult! It can't go into my regular trash for pick-up by the city because it will break their equipment. The city will not accept if for recycling either. Does Insinkerator have a recycling program where I can send the old one to you for recycling? I'd be happy to pay for the opportunity! Or is the only option to take it to my local landfill?
