The Jam-Buster Wrench is a quick, effective tool to help free simple jams in your InSinkErator manufactured disposer. Insert the hex wrench into the center hole in the bottom of the disposer and turn back and forth to free the jam. Works only on InSinkErator manufactured disposers.

Hums but does not turn. Nothing binding it.

The shaft can be turned freely with the wrench from the bottom, and the plate on the top can be turned freely by pushing with a screw driver. Obviously the reset button is retracted as power is going to the unit.
Where else, what else, can be jammed?
I had the same problem with a Badger model. Here is what worked for me:
I put about a tablespoon of vegetable oil in the disposal and then used a hex wrench in the bottom socket to turn the disposal mechanism back and forth several times to lubricate it. This made it turn much more freely. I then turned on the disposal and it worked. We had been gone for several weeks and live in a very dry climate which I believe caused it to stick.
