The Evolution Essential food waste disposer is the ideal choice for a wide range of kitchens.

Will it work on 230 volt

Hello,

I have a question; I am interested in buying the InSinkErator Evolution Compact 3/4 HP Household Garbage Disposer. But will it work on 230V, because I will use it in Denmark. Or is it only for US power supply 110V?

Hope to hear from you soon, so that I can but the Evolution machine.

Greetings
Sebastian
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. The model Evolution Essential is manufactured and designed to meet the requirements for sale and installation only in the U.S. and Canada. Should the Evolution Essential be installed outside the U.S. or Canada as It does not meet the electrical or other requirements to be sold elsewhere, as such The Evolution Essential would not carry any warranty if installed outside the U.S or Canada.

Kindly send me response through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com with your complete contact information and I will check if we have an available InSinkErator Representative in your area and what InSinkErator disposer can be used and installed in Denmark. Thank you.

What foods can be placed in the disposal that would not cause the disposal to cut off?

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Your InSinkErator disposer is designed for use on all kinds of food waste. Most vegetable, fruit, and meat waste can be disposed of easily in your disposer. The disposer can even dispose of bones. In fact, grinding bones keeps the shredding components in the disposer clean and moving freely. They also create a scouring action that will scrape off leftover particles inside the disposer that may cause odor. Fruit pits from peaches, nectarines, plums, etc. do a good job of this too.

Do not place extremely fibrous materials into the disposer. Some of these include corn husks, artichoke leaves, and flower stems. Also, do not place oyster, clam, shrimp or other similar shells in the disposer, or any type of non-food waste such as paper or plastic items.

I have included the link to our care and use booklet for additional information.

When the Badger 5 leaks form the bottom is it repairable?

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. We have internally studied the feasibility of servicing the disposer. It is somewhat of a complex process which would be very difficult for the majority of our consumers and if not performed correctly, there is the risk of complicating the issue. While you may be very capable of making repairs, the skill levels of the average consumer varies greatly.

I do apologize for the inconvenience that you encountered with your disposer. Our customer’s experience and satisfaction are very important to InSinkErator and I would like the opportunity to help you with this. Kindly send me an email through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com with your complete contact information and serial number of your unit and I will get in touch with you. Thank you.

I have a model 1-81 badger. what is the replacement part number?

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Badger 1 is the direct replacement of your Badger 1-81 disposer. However, please take note that your disposer has threads for its discharge outlet. All of our Badger disposers today use a flange and bolt connection.

Kindly check if the existing disposer has a tailpipe shaped like a "J" that comes off the disposer and goes down to connect to your plumbing; or if you have a horizontal tube attached to the discharge of the disposer which connects the disposer to the other side of the sink.

If you have a "J" tube, then the tailpipe provided with any Badger disposers should line up with your current plumbing. If you have a straight pipe type application, then you will need an additional 5/8" for the straight tube.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

The Extended Sink Flange is required for sinks greater than 3/4" thick. The polished surface of this stainless steel flange will complement most stainless steel sinks. For more information, call the Answer line at 1-800-558-5700. Note: Use of abrasive cleaning solutions may harm this product's finish.

Do i need this for a IKEA Domsjo ceramic sink?

I have a Domsjo Ceramic sink and would like to know if i can attach a disposal?
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. In trying to find out if a sink can accommodate a certain type of disposer, we need to know the disposer’s approximate weight and the capacity of the sink that will hold the disposer. You can refer to the specification sheets available online to know each disposer’s approximate weight. Then you may contact your sink’s manufacturer to know if your sink can handle our disposer’s weight. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

Faucet Color

Which color fauce tbest matches the new stainless steel appliances? Thank you.
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. The closest finish to most stainless steel appliances would be the Chrome finish. But it would still depend on the actual finish of the appliance that you have. You may check the link below for our finish matching guide. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

A convenient alternative to a wall switch, the stylish SinkTop Switch from InSinkErator is air-activated and easily mounts to the sink or counter top. It is also ideal for island installations. The SinkTop Switch is for use with all disposers (must have AC power below sink.)

ALREADY HAVE WALL SWITCH...

WHEN THIS IS PLUGGED IN UNDER SINK AND DISPOSER IS PLUGGED
INTO IT, DOES THAT OVERRIDE THE WALL SWITCH THAT'S ALREADY THERE? OR WILL I HAVE TWO WAYS OF TURNING ON/OFF DISPOSER?
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. The InSinkErator SinkTop switch is an alternative to a wall switch. If you already have an outlet controlled by a wall switch, then it is no longer necessary to have a SinkTop switch. If you prefer to use your SinkTop switch, then we suggest that you plug the InSinkErator SinkTop Switch to an outlet that has continuous power.

However, if you still prefer to use your SinkTop switch and plug it to an outlet control by an on/off switch, then you may just leave the switch on and let the disposer be controlled by the SinkTop switch by just pushing it on and off.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact us through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

Water will not shut off

I am experiencing similar problem as others. During normal use, shut-off valve became stuck and water runs continuously (until turned off by check valve below sink). Lever on dispenser is "loose" with no pressure from below. Please advise how this can be repaired without purchase of new unit.
