I was able to swap the current model for my 17 year old unit in about 1/2 hr. The old one had been damaged and developed a leak. Only complaint was the factory plug in the dishwasher connection [which I don't use] came out and got caught in the cutter, requiring me to remove it with long nose pliers and fashion a cap for the connection from the dishwasher hose connection accessory.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I need to replace my Badger 5 , this is the model that was already in the house when i purchasd it.
What is the best quality option for replacement . it needs to have a dishwasher drain attachment.

I believe all the current Insinkerator models have the connection for the dishwasher drain, extends from the inlet housing above the cutter blade assembly. Instructions on how to open the connection and use it are in the manual.

I currently have a Badger 1 which is 10 years old and the plastic housing has acquired 2-3 cracks in it and is now leaking.
Can I hook up the 5XP to the existing Badger 1 mounting bracket?
The newer model should fit the existing Insinkerator clamp.

can i mount an air pressure switch to make it operate like on a spa?
Air operated switches are available from Home Depot, hanging next to the disposals.
