The InSinkErator Badger Series food waste disposers are a reliable and functional choice when affordability is the prime concern. Choose from three models, each with a space-saving compact design.
This is a replacement for my other Badger disposal, which lasted 13 years of daily use before it started leaking. The old flange to connect it to the underside of the sink was still in good shape, so I simply twisted the new one on and reconnected the dishwasher hose and the drain pipe. I don't think I've ever seen a disposal actually hardwired into an electrical system, so it would be nice if the unit came with a power cord pre-installed, rather than making a separate purchase and connecting it myself (although it was simple enough#. Likewise, it would be helpful if the unit included a gasket/washer for where the drain pipe connects to the disposal #I had to go to the store to buy one -- it's inexpensive, but I had to stop the installation to go get one). As for quality, if it's just like the last one, it's plenty powerful and not too noisy at all. I expect to get 13 years out of this unit, but I plan to be long gone from this house by then! :-)
